Hi, I'm Cristiana

Photography has been a big part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. It’s been my first passion and the thing I always fell back onto whenever I needed to feel like myself again.

Over the years, I had the privilege and pleasure to photograph hundreds of people, from models and couples to travellers and business owners.

My photography story

AMSTERDAM PHOTOGRAPHER

I’m a photographer based in beautiful Amsterdam. I moved to this gorgeous city 9 years ago to study and I stayed for its beauty — and a little bit for love.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

I was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania. Lush nature, beautiful colours changing with the seasons, and a family that developed film photos in the storeroom were around me from the start. In a way, it was only a matter of time until I got the photography bug, too.

FIRST PHOTO STEPS

I got my first film compact camera in 6th grade, and when I was 14 years old, I won a school photography award with some portraits I took of my best friend. Not sure if these count as the beginnings, but they are my first photography memories.

You see where I’m going with this — I’ve been flirting with photography for quite some time. However, I decided to do it professionally in 2018, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Style & influences

PERSONAL & EDITORIAL

I’ve always been fascinated by the gorgeous colours, lighting, and style that I saw in fashion magazines — yet what I wanted to do was capture authentic human emotions.

So over the years, I slowly put the two together to create personal portraits with an editorial twist — and create a bit of magic together. I’ve worked with both models wanting something different that their usual studio portfolio, and with clients in search of a meaningful way to capture their own story, be it solo or as a couple.

NATURAL LIGHT & COLOURS

I love moody and bold colours, natural light, and finding new ways to capture the beauty in the world and all of us. I’m inspired by nature and the outdoors, and 90% of my photoshoots take place outside. But worry not — I do have some tricks and secrets up my sleeve to accommodate the capricious Dutch weather while getting the most magical results.

A CREATIVE SOUL

Besides photography, I love things that make life more joyful. I love live music and I dance Cuban salsa. Good food and those who love it have a special place in my heart. I’ve always enjoyed writing and have worked as a Content Marketer for many years, too.

EXPERIENCED MARKETER

I have over 10 years of experience in Marketing, which helps me understand how to structure the photoshoot and angles based on your needs. Passionate about content marketing, branding, and graphic design, I also do freelance work for companies that want to boost their marketing efforts.

CURIOUS & CALM

I’m a positive and calm person, and I think my clients appreciate that a lot. This helps me make you as comfortable as possible during the photoshoot, and adapt with creativity to any unexpected circumstances.

Rain, location closed, or an unexpected wardrobe malfunction? No worries. I love the challenge of working with what we got and some of my favourite shots have been taken when things took an unexpected turn.

My goal? Making you happy.

I had such a great time shooting with Cristiana!! She is a nice person and working with her went so easy. I´ve got the feeling I´ve learned so much this day! Looking forward shooting again! Thank you so so much 🙂

Cristiana helped me relax, enjoy the experience and even look forward to repeating it! The result was also really good! I’m really picky when it comes to photos of me, but after this session, I had tons of photos I really loved. I almost flooded my Instagram account with them afterwards

I had a great time shooting with Cristiana! Communication went well before during and after the shoot, she gave fantastic direction whilst also letting me move and pose freely. Before having my first photoshoot with Cristiana, I had always thought that I was a lost photography cause. Until then, there was literally not one good picture of me in the history of photography. During our shoots though, using her witty and considerate ways, Cristiana made me feel comfortable and confident. This is how she managed to take a series of amazing pictures of me! She is extremely warm, kind-hearted and creative, and an incredibly talented photographer. It’s not hard to see this coming through in her earnest, dreamy portraits. Can’t wait for our next shoot!

I am usually very anxious about being photographed, but the two sessions we had together were so much fun! I really felt like I could act natural and be myself. Seeing the end result was a real confidence boost.
